The Aftercare Academy was established to address a critical gap in professional training for postoperative care. Too often, therapists opt for quick, superficial courses—sometimes entirely online—that lack depth and put clients at risk due to insufficient knowledge and practice.Â
All our workshops are approved by the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT), the leading massage and bodywork membership body in the UK. On completion of any of these courses, you can become a member of the FHT and obtain insurance with the leading insurance companies in the UK.
We are an approved NCBTMB provider for the Advanced MLT and Treatment Protocols workshop. On completion of this workshop, you will be entitled to 54 CE points. Provider number:Â 1001884
We do not hand out certificates to just anyone! There is a rigorous assessment process throughout the training, which you must pass before receiving your certificate.Â

Hi! I'm Petra
When I started working with postoperative aesthetic and cosmetic plastic surgery patients, I had no clue what I was doing. Yes, I knew Manual Lymph Drainage and was confident treating people with lymphoedema and lipoedema. But, when it came to having someone who had just been through the trauma of a plastic surgery procedure I was scared I might do them more harm than good.
However, after twenty years of working with some of London's leading specialists in their fields of expertise, of working in both the NHS (National Health Service) and in private practice and in successfully helping thousands of different people from all around the world recover better after surgery, I now I use my own personal struggle to help people just like you find confidence and success working with this patient population.
