Book your place today. You will not regret it.

The cosmetic plastic surgery business is a multi-billion dollar global business and is expected to continue growing as surgery becomes more achievable, both financially and logistically.

As more and more people are opting to have surgery, the demand for postoperative care is growing too.

Treating someone who has just been through the trauma of a surgical procedure is in no way similar to treating someone with a 'normal' body.

In other words, even though you may be qualified as a massage therapist, that doesn't mean you know how to safely and effectively treat postoperative patients.

It's time to level up your knowledge and skills!

The training gave me a better overall understanding of and more confidence to treat holistically. The online platform was invaluable for laying the foundation before the hands-on training. Petra was always happy to provide info, feedback and additional knowledge, reinforced by her passion to raise the bar in this therapy. I would highly recommend it. It was worth every penny!

Strengthen your treatment repertoire

MLD is a prerequisite for this training.

The postoperative plastic and cosmetic surgery industry is steadily growing, as is the need for suitably knowledgeable and qualified therapists treating these people.

And because of this, many massage therapists are seeing this as a lucrative income stream.

However, sadly, many courses in Lymphatic Massage lack substance and teach incorrect techniques, not suitable for treating postoperative patients.

When you are working with such a delicate patient population such as post-plastic surgery patients, it is vital that not only your techniques are right, but that you have a clear understanding of what happens when you are mobilising tissue fluid.

Let me guide you on your journey to postop success by starting with the basics.

Once you've completed this training, you will have in-depth knowledge of the anatomy of the lymphatic system and be confident performing a whole body and face, Manual Lymphatic Therapy treatment.

You will be on your road to supporting patient recovery. Not compromising it!

Thank you, Petra, for the amazing course you put together. It was beyond helpful and has given me a huge confidence boost when it comes to treating clients holistically. Thanks again!

Our industry is designed so that our integrity is in our own hands, this training is one that raises the bar for all of us. My previous lymphatic massage training covered some of this but I felt like we really blew by so much of it. This training went into depth, we really dug into the topics.

When I qualified as a massage therapist in 2003, I knew I didn't want to be 'just' another massage therapist.

I knew there was more I wanted to give my clients, than a simple massage.

Having completed additional training in Myofascial Release, I could see the benefits this profound therapy had on women who were experiencing pain and discomfort following radical mastectomy.

Fortunately, I was working in a Sports Injury and Physiotherapy clinic in Northern Ireland, who like me, wanted me to progress.

So, in 2006, I left my five-year-old daughter with my mum and travelled to Michigan, USA to train in treating problematic scars. As part of the training, I had to learn about the Lymphatic System. So, I studied Bruno Chikly's Lymph Drainage Therapy (LDT) parts 1 and 2. Then in 2008 I completed my Manual Lymph Drainage and Complete Decongestive Therapy training with Klose Training.

Since then I've had a successful career treating lymphedema, and lipoedema and in helping people recover better after surgery.

In recent years, I've become aware of an increase in schools offering training in Lymphatic Massage, which lacks depth and substance.

So, in 2021, I developed the Aftercare Academy to provide cutting-edge, advanced training to help therapists like you, gain confidence working with plastic surgery patients.

The Manual Lymphatic Therapy training is a prerequisite if you wish to progress to working with postop plastic and cosmetic surgery patients and attend our Advanced Postoperative Therapy training.

It was what I was missing. The Postoperative Therapy training covers a very wide range of subjects, and I have learned a lot. Everything seems to fall in place for me, and all that I am doing makes sense. I am credible.

Manual Lymph Drainage is one thing. Working with postop patients is a whole different ball game! After I finished the training, my clients could feel the confidence in my touch.

Come and join us at Wood MediSpa! We make learning fun!

I struggled with confidence before doing the training but since doing it, I've been inundated with patients. If you're hesitating about doing it, don't. Just do it!
